Singapore's ST Engineering to add data center as restrictions lifted
SINGAPORE -- Singapore Technologies Engineering, a state-backed defense conglomerate, on Tuesday began construction of a data center in the city-state to meet booming demand, after the government recently announced plans to boost the country's total capacity following a pause.
"We are investing to expand our data center facilities to meet the increasing demand for sustainable and secure infrastructure to support AI workloads," Group President and CEO Vincent Chong said at the groundbreaking ceremony held in the western part of the country.
