Temasek's China strategy to focus on companies with big domestic demand
SINGAPORE -- Temasek Holdings will focus on investing in Chinese companies with large, domestic-focused businesses rather than those that depend on foreign markets, underscoring its cautious stance toward Asia's largest economy amid mounting geopolitical risk.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Temasek Deputy Chief Executive Officer Chia Song Hwee said the Singaporean state-investor will continue to scout for deals in sectors such as biotechnology, robotics and electric vehicles in China, though it will concentrate on companies supported by strong domestic consumption.
