Japan to require foreign e-tailers to have local person in charge
TOKYO -- Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will require overseas businesses that sell electronics and other products online directly to consumers in Japan to appoint a person in Japan to oversee safety management and troubleshooting, Nikkei has learned.
The rules will require that the name of the person in charge be made public so that consumers can determine whether the company is trustworthy.
