Japan's Toray developing membrane to recycle battery lithium
TOKYO -- Japanese chemical and fiber manufacturer Toray Industries is developing a new technology that can recover more than 80% of lithium from used lithium-ion batteries, with the aim of commercialization by March 2028, Nikkei has learned.
As global competition for mineral resources for electric vehicles and other applications intensifies, recycling technology is becoming increasingly important for countries' economic security.
