Japan's Sumitomo and Rakuten to join Ukraine recovery projects
TOKYO -- Sumitomo Corp. and Rakuten Group are among roughly 20 Japanese companies and government organizations that will take part in projects to rebuild Ukraine's communications and energy infrastructure battered by the Russian war, Nikkei has learned.
The projects will begin as soon as this year, focusing on western Ukraine, which has remained relatively unscathed by Moscow's invasion as heavy combat was concentrated on areas near the country's eastern border.
