Parental leave in Japan: Aeon offers full pay up to child's 1st birthday
TOKYO -- Aeon, one of Japan's biggest retailers, will fully compensate employees on parental leave starting later this year, Nikkei has learned, in a move meant to encourage more men to take advantage of the benefit.
Workers in Japan are entitled to take 180 days of parental leave at 67% of their monthly pay. The allowance is reduced to 50% afterward.
