Bain Capital makes counteroffer to KKR's takeover bid for Fuji Soft
TOKYO -- U.S. private investment firm Bain Capital has made a counteroffer of 600 billion yen ($4.1 billion) to Japanese systems developer Fuji Soft to outdo a takeover bid by fellow U.S. private equity firm KKR, Nikkei has learned.
KKR announced in August that it intends to make a tender offer to acquire all the outstanding shares of Fuji Soft at 8,800 yen per share, making the total deal around 560 billion yen ($3.8 billion). Fuji Soft's management said it is in favor of the acquisition.
