TOKYO -- Japan's Asahi Kasei will build a plant in Canada to make components used in electric vehicle batteries, Nikkei has learned, planning to supply key materials, mainly to Honda Motor's EV factory to be built in the country.
Asahi Kasei plans to invest around 200 billion yen ($1.3 billion) in the new plant and aims to start production in 2027.
