Ukraine eyes Japanese companies for nuclear power expansion: minister
KYIV -- Ukraine will seek cooperation from Japanese companies for the four new nuclear reactors the country plans to build in the western oblast of Khmelnytskyi, Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko told Nikkei in a recent interview.
Ukraine has 15 reactors spread across four locations. Europe's largest nuclear power plant, Zaporizhzhia, in the south, has been taken over by invading Russian forces and all six reactors there have been shut down, leaving only nine in operation.
