Trump may press Japan to defend U.S. in security treaty: John Bolton
WASHINGTON -- Japan must be ready to deal with any changes Donald Trump may demand to its security treaty with the U.S. if he is reelected president, said former national security adviser John Bolton, arguing that he has a "lack of appreciation for what American alliances do."
"I think much of what you can predict about a second Trump term was evident in his first term," Bolton told Nikkei in a recent online interview.
