Thai Constitutional Court orders Move Forward Party to dissolve

BANGKOK -- Thailand's Constitutional Court on Wednesday ordered the dissolution of the largest opposition Move Forward Party over campaign advocacy to amend the country's lese-majeste law, a major blow to the progressive party that won the most seats in last year's general election.

The court also moved against the party's executive members who were in power from March 2021 to January 2024, banning them from politics for 10 years. The ban applies to Pita Limjaroenrat, the former leader and prime minister candidate, and Chaithawat Tulathon, the current leader.
