South Korea's ruling PPP picks ex-justice minister as new leader
GOYANG, South Korea -- South Korea's ruling conservative party selected a former justice minister now at odds with President Yoon Suk Yeol as its leader on Tuesday as part of efforts to rebuild after a stinging defeat in legislative elections earlier this year.
Han Dong-hoon triumphed in a vote by members of the ruling People Power Party (PPP), garnering 62.8% of support, easily surpassing former land minister Won Hee-ryong with 18.8% and veteran politician Na Kyung-won with 14.6%.
