Shohei Ohtani ex-interpreter faces Homeland Security probe
NEW YORK -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Internal Revenue Service are jointly investigating Ippei Mizuhara, baseball star Shohei Ohtani's former interpreter who was recently fired by the Los Angeles Dodgers over allegations of illegal gambling.
A DHS spokesperson confirmed the existence of the investigation to Nikkei but said no further details could be provided. The spokesperson did not say whether Ohtani himself is also a target.
