Japan to tighten export controls to prevent military use
TOKYO -- The Japanese government hopes to tighten export controls to prevent goods and parts from being used for military purposes, including new measures to stop third-party transfers.
Japan classifies countries into three groups: those to which weapons exports are banned under U.N. Security Council resolutions; 27 countries with proper export controls, including the U.S., the U.K. and South Korea; and all others.
