Japan's chip industry can be revived, Acer cofounder says
TAIPEI -- Japan's semiconductor and electronics industries have the potential to make a comeback, Acer cofounder Stan Shih says.
Shih, who now sits on the board of the Taiwanese personal computer maker, called for Japan and chipmaking powerhouse Taiwan to work together more closely in semiconductor supply chains. He spoke with Nikkei earlier this month ahead of a visit to Japan.
