HPE taps Saudi Arabia as it extends its production footprint
BARCELONA, Spain -- Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has begun making servers in Saudi Arabia to meet onshore production demand from the Middle East and boost supply chain resilience, the CEO of the world's second-biggest server maker told Nikkei Asia.
Supply chain resilience "is a very important topic," Antonio Neri said in an interview on the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. "It's not just driven by the geopolitical situation, but also the ability to deal with disruptions. ... Think about hurricanes, typhoons, earthquakes and everything that we have to deal with. We have to do that in the context [of providing a] guaranteed supply experience to our customers."
