Accor to open hotel in Indonesia's new capital 'before Jokowi leaves'

JAKARTA -- French hotel group Accor will open a hotel in Indonesia's new capital in the coming months, a rare foreign investment in the initial phase of the development on Borneo, and says it sees growing opportunities across Asia.

In a recent interview with Nikkei Asia, Garth Simmons, Accor's chief operating officer for its premium, midscale and economy division in Asia, said it will launch a Swissotel brand hotel in Nusantara, where the Indonesian government plans to start moving some functions from Jakarta this August.
