Yen climbs to 155 per dollar, a five-week high, following U.S. pressure
TOKYO -- The yen sharply appreciated against the dollar on Thursday, temporarily reaching a one-month high, following pressure by powerful figures in the U.S. and Japan.
The Japanese currency strengthened by over 3 yen to 155.37 against the greenback at one point in the morning, marking a high unseen since June 7.
