Yellen cites China overproduction as G7 ministers meeting opens
STRESA, Italy -- As Group of Seven finance ministers and central bank governors meet in Italy from Thursday, a major topic is the fragmentation of world trade, a problem that U.S. and Europe blame partly on overproduction in China.
Discussion topics include how to use frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine's recovery, the macroeconomic impact of artificial intelligence, debt issues in low- and middle-income countries, and reform of multilateral development banks. The gathering runs through Saturday in the northern Italian city of Stresa.
