Universal Studios Japan targets over-60s to ease labor crunch
OSAKA -- Universal Studios Japan's operating company aims to hire about 200 park staff over the age of 60 by 2025, hoping to both solve labor shortages and expand the age range of park visitors.
"I was surprised that USJ was recruiting seniors, but I thought being able to work with people of various ages sounded nice," said a 63-year-old woman who visited the park's booth at a job fair for seniors held by Osaka prefecture last month. USJ is the name commonly used for the Osaka theme park in Japan.
