Two Japan Self-Defense Forces choppers go missing in Pacific
TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Two Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force helicopters have gone missing since late Saturday after flying in an area of the Pacific, south of Tokyo, Defense Ministry and MSDF officials said.
The missing helicopters are SH-60Ks, each carrying four crew members, the officials said. They lost contact in an area east of the Izu Island chain at 10:38 p.m. and 11:04 p.m., respectively, the officials said.
