TSMC predicts revenues could grow 26% this year on AI boom
TAIPEI -- Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., the world's largest contract chipmaker, said on Thursday its revenues could grow by as much as 26% this year as the rise of generative AI computing fuels the growth of the global electronics industry.
C.C. Wei, TSMC chief executive, issued the prediction as the Taiwanese chip titan reported that its fourth-quarter net income fell 19.3% year on year to 238.71 billion New Taiwan dollars ($7.48 billion) while revenue was little changed from a year ago at NT$625.52 billion.
