TikTok ban bill moves forward in U.S., with House to vote next week
PALO ALTO, U.S.-- U.S. lawmakers advanced a bill Thursday that would ban TikTok in the country unless it cuts ties with its Chinese parent company ByteDance within six months.
In an attempt to rally support, the short video app sent out notifications to its U.S. users, urging them to call their representatives to stop "a total ban" of the platform.
