Thailand's marriage equality a rare win in Asia's fight for LGBTQ rights
BANGKOK -- On the first day of June, gay couples from Malaysia, Indonesia, China and Russia cheered and waved rainbow flags as Thai drag performers, transgender pageant queens and brides in wedding garb began their march down Bangkok's busy Ratchaprasong intersection.
Many said they came to Bangkok specifically for Pride, typically celebrated in June around the world, but not in their home countries.
