Thai green energy producer shares halve after fraud allegation
BANGKOK -- Shares in Bangkok-listed Energy Absolute were down 30% at the opening bell on Wednesday, after having taken a similar hit at the close of trading on Tuesday, the renewable energy company's first full day of trading since its top two executives were charged with fraud by the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Energy Absolute shares were suspended from trading on Monday afternoon by the Stock Exchange of Thailand, but the ban was lifted Tuesday morning. They traded at 6.40 baht at one point on Wednesday, roughly half their value at Friday's closing.
