Singapore's Banyan eager to split hotel, property units, chairman says
PHUKET, Thailand -- Singapore-based Banyan Group is planning to split its hotel and property development segments into separate companies, its founder told Nikkei Asia, in an attempt to shore up investor confidence undermined by its diverse business model.
The Singapore and Bangkok-listed group has grown into Asia's top hospitality brand, encompassing resort and hotel operations, hotel management and property development. But Chairman Ho Kwon Ping said a corporate reshuffle is necessary to unlock value.
