Myanmar humanitarian aid in focus as ASEAN defense chiefs meet
LUANG PRABANG, Laos -- Defense ministers from ASEAN met on Tuesday to discuss regional issues as the humanitarian crisis in one of its members, Myanmar, becomes a more pressing agenda for the regional bloc.
"Currently, we are witnessing geopolitical conflicts that affect us," Lao's Minister of Nation Defence Chansamone Chanyalath said in an opening remark. "Today is a good opportunity for ASEAN to gather here and discuss how to deal with them."
