MSCI cuts 66 companies from China Index as equities slump
NEW YORK -- Global index provider MSCI will drop 66 companies from its benchmark China index after Feb. 29 and trim the country's weighting in its Emerging Markets Index as Chinese equities continue to slump.
The cuts in the MSCI China Index involve companies across property, health care and consumer sectors including Weibo, Greentown China and China Southern Airlines.
