Major Malaysian hospital orders Japanese 'wearable cyborg'

TSUKUBA, Japan -- A Malaysian national medical facility is preparing to offer HAL, a cutting-edge robotic exoskeleton invented by Cyberdyne, a Japanese tech venture, that uses brain signals to assist body movements and is of particular use to the elderly and people with spinal injuries.

Dubbed a "wearable cyborg," Cyberdyne's Hybrid Assistive Limb (HAL) is a pioneering powered suit designed to detect subtle bio-electric signals from the brain to facilitate body movements.
