Kamala Harris courts votes of high-income Indian Americans

WASHINGTON -- As Vice President Kamala Harris seeks to win the White House this fall, she will be tested on her ability to capitalize on her ties to the increasingly influential, high-income Indian American community.

"Culturally, I was raised to keep my head down and to not make a stir, but that is the opposite of what Kamala Harris has done with her life, and I love her for that," Indian American actress Mindy Kaling said in the "South Asian Women for Harris" Zoom event in late July.
