JD Vance slams Democrats for allowing Chinese battery plant in Michigan
WASHINGTON -- U.S. Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance on Tuesday criticized the Democratic Party and incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris for giving Chinese battery maker Gotion access to clean-energy subsidies, during a campaign rally in Big Rapids, Michigan.
"Remember the tiebreaking vote that she cast to send inflation through the roof?" Vance said, alluding to the Inflation Reduction Act. "Remember that vote? That vote also made Chinese companies like Gotion eligible for millions of your taxpayer dollars."
