Japan, South Korea move past radar row to improve defense ties
SINGAPORE -- Japan and South Korea on Saturday took a step toward strengthening defense cooperation, agreeing on measures to prevent a recurrence of a radar lock-on incident that resulted in a five-year standoff.
Japanese Defense Minister Minoru Kihara and his South Korean counterpart Shin Won-sik held talks on the sidelines of the annual Shangri-La Dialogue defense forum here.
