Japan sees 'transition phase' in dual-use military export controls
TOKYO -- Japanese companies would be required to notify the government before exporting advanced materials and equipment that could be used for military applications, according to a proposal released Wednesday that describes the country's approach to export controls in a "transition phase."
The proposal is in an interim report by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry that plans to make changes to regulations by the fall.
