FUKUI, Japan -- A new section of Japan's shinkansen bullet train network opened Saturday, connecting Tokyo by high-speed rail to more destinations in the Hokuriku region on the Sea of Japan coast.
The Hokuriku Shinkansen line now extends to the city of Tsuruga, further on from the previous terminal at Kanazawa.
