Japan needs a balanced China strategy free from historical burdens
BEIJING -- China continues to deepen dialogue with other countries despite criticism of its pro-Russian stance on the Ukraine war and the global economic fallout from its excess manufacturing capacity.
Several key members of the U.S. administration, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, recently visited the country for discussions with Chinese leaders. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also visited China in April, and Chinese President Xi Jinping reciprocated French President Emmanuel Macron's 2023 visit by traveling to France in May.
