Indonesia's Prabowo visits Japan for balance after his China trip
TOKYO/JAKARTA -- Prabowo Subianto, Indonesia's president-elect and defense minister, met with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Wednesday during a visit to Japan that immediately follows talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
"Under the comprehensive strategic partnership, as excellent partners, we would like to advance our bilateral relationship and cooperation in regional and international affairs," Kishida said at the meeting, adding he is "looking forward to working closely" with Prabowo.
