IKEA launches new urban store model in Tokyo's Shibuya
TOKYO -- Swedish furniture giant IKEA reopened its renovated location in Tokyo's Shibuya ward on Tuesday as an experimental store with large digital displays and an emphasis on online shopping, as the company looks to hone a global strategy for its urban stores.
The revamped Shibuya store will be a unique hub in the center of Tokyo that complements other IKEA locations as well as the online store, said IKEA Japan President Petra Fare.
