Cathay Pacific returns to first full-year profit since 2019
HONG KONG -- Cathay Pacific Airways returned to its first annual profit since 2019 on Wednesday, in a sign that the disruption wrought by the COVID-19 pandemic on Hong Kong's flagship carrier was finally coming to an end.
"In 2023, we finally left the COVID-19 pandemic behind us," Chairman Patrick Healy declared as the airline published annual net profits of 9.06 billion Hong Kong dollars ($1.16 billion), against 2022's net loss of HK$7.23 billion.
