Australian startup's plant to turn CO2 into cement materials
NEWCASTLE, Australia -- Canberra-based startup MCi Carbon is building a facility in Australia to capture carbon for use in cement, accelerating a push to commercialize decarbonization technologies.
MCi held a foundation ceremony Wednesday at the site in the city of Newcastle. The new facility is slated for completion by the end of 2024, and is designed to capture 1,000 to 3,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year.
