Australia's Woodside, Orica tap startup partners on carbon capture

SYDNEY/TOKYO -- Leading Australian chemical and energy companies are partnering with startups to advance decarbonization technologies, as the government tightens emissions restrictions in a push toward a greener economy.

On April 10, Australian startup MCi Carbon held a foundation ceremony for a new carbon capture plant in the city of Newcastle. MCi was founded in 2013 as a joint venture between chemical producer Orica and other partners.
