ASICS shoe supplier in Cambodia accused of labor rights abuse

KOBE, Japan -- An international human rights organization has accused a shoe factory in Cambodia that supplies ASICS of violating the right of workers to organize into unions, the Japanese sportswear maker revealed Friday.

The Worker Rights Consortium submitted a complaint in late July claiming the supplier mounted a pressure campaign against the chairperson of a recently formed union. The union has demanded better treatment for workers.
