TSMC, MediaTek lead as Taiwan tech makers log 19% sales jump
TAIPEI -- Top Taiwanese manufacturers serving the tech sector reported a 19.4% revenue increase on the year in April, data compiled by Nikkei shows, fueled by strong demand for artificial intelligence-related servers and semiconductors.
Combined sales at 19 companies grew for the second straight month to 1.27 trillion New Taiwan dollars ($39.5 billion). The figure had dipped last year amid a global slump in computer and smartphone sales but has regained momentum on AI-related demand.
