Nippon Steel goes straight to the mill to shore up U.S. Steel deal
TOKYO/NEW YORK -- Nippon Steel is on a mission to build grassroots support for its bid to acquire United States Steel, sending one of its top executives to engage directly with employees on the ground.
Vice Chairman and Executive Vice President Takahiro Mori in early June visited a Pittsburgh-area mill of U.S. Steel, where he detailed to workers his company's plans on employment and capital investment following the deal.
