Labubu fever: Singapore PAP politician enlists ‘cutest volunteer’ to engage youth
A politician of Singapore’s ruling party has enlisted a viral toy figure as part of efforts to embrace social media trends and connect with younger constituents.
Dressed in the signature white attire of the People’s Action Party (PAP) and black spectacles, the toffee-coloured Labubu volunteer doll made its debut on Sunday during a grocery distribution event, appearing alongside PAP candidates.
In a Facebook post, PAP politician Lam Pin Min, the branch chairman of Sengkang West, posted a picture with the viral doll, the two dressed in matching white shirts with the PAP party logo.
He wrote: “We have always looked out for and will continue to care for our seniors and underprivileged in the community!”
“We also welcome Labubu, our latest and cutest volunteer to join us in our mission to serve with humility and love!”
