Ko Wen-je arrest plunges Taiwan's No. 3 party into crisis of trust
TAIPEI -- Taiwan's third-biggest political party is fighting for its survival as its leader and top figures are mired in corruption and campaign finance scandals.
Ko Wen-je, leader of the Taiwan People's Party (TPP), was arrested Saturday at prosecutors' request after questioning over one of the multiple scandals -- alleged mishandling of a real estate project during his tenure as mayor of Taipei.
