Bangkok mobilizes volunteers to combat stray pet crisis
BANGKOK -- Hiding in plain sight beneath a palm tree, Janice Koehler eyes a metal cage across a parking lot, sitting in the shadows of a Bangkok high-rise. The trap is set. Her target lurks.
Suddenly, the cage door snaps shut. With a confidence that betrays that she has done this nearly 700 times, she springs into action. A mottled grey cat with a bent tail roars and cartwheels. Koehler coos and covers the cage with a towel to calm the animal.
