Ottawa, Ontario AP —
India said Monday it was withdrawing its envoy to Canada because Ottawa was investigating him and other diplomats as “persons of interest”, after the killing last year of Sikh separatist leader and Canadian citizen Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
A fourth person has been arrested and charged with the murder of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar last year, Canadian police said on Saturday, in a case that strained diplomatic relations with India.
Canadian police said on Friday they had arrested and charged three Indian nationals with the murder of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June 2023 and said they were probing possible links to the Indian government.
